Santiago Ventura is a young Uruguayan director who has dedicated his burgeoning career to both film and theater directing as well as screenplay writing, being recognized in all his facets.
As a fiction director, his feature films stand out, including “Tan frágil como un segundo” (premiered at the Montevideo Film Festival and nominated for Best National Fiction at the annual awards of the Uruguayan Critics Association), “Ojos Grises” (a post-apocalyptic western available on Amazon Prime Video), and the fiction series “Excesos”.
Santiago is currently filming his new feature film “Agua Negra”.
As a theater director, Ventura has been awarded the Florencio Sánchez Prize for Best Show and Direction for the play “Lluvia Constante”.
In his role as a screenwriter, Santiago Ventura was selected for the Screenplay Lab in Medellín, a prominent platform within the Ibero-American circuit.
His constant concern for artistic and technical development has led him to direct both the Dodecá Film School, an institution of great importance in the Uruguayan cinematographic field, and the School of the Actor in Uruguay.
