Basque actress based in Madrid, Spain. In 2024 she will premiere the feature film “The Book” in the leading role of the movie. She also released in 2023 the short film “Los Hijos” (The children), a movie written, directed, produced and starred by Nahia.
 
From a very young age, she began her acting education in her native Bilbao, under the guidance of Ramón Barea, at the Juan de Antxieta Conservatory. At the age of 18 she moved to Madrid to study at the Teatro Cámara Chéjov, directed by Angel Gutiérrez, and becoming part of its theatrical company.  In Madrid, Nahia also combines her studies in Veterinary Medicine -from which she graduated at the Universidad Complutense-, and at the Official School of Languages (English), with her acting studies in “Ensayo 100”, directed by Jorge Eines.
 
Nahia complemented her theatrical education with audiovisual training attending several courses lectured by some casting directors such as Luis Gimeno, Sara Bilbatúa, Tonucha Vidal or TV director Javier F. Luna.
 
Also trained in singing, voiceover and dubbing techniques, in 2009 she moved to Paris to study with Jeremy James (Theatre du Soleil), Haim Isaacs (Roy Hart) and Paola Rizza (Lecq).
 
In theatre she played and kept training under the orders of Cristina Marsillach, Laura Ortega, José Cruz, Andrés Lima, Pablo Messiez, José Sanchís Sinisterra and a long etcetera.
 
She joined the renowned theatre company “Off Madrid” where she starred in several productions directed by Luis Maluenda, as well as “Proyecto 432”, starring in two of its main productions: La Mirada del Otro (more than 150 functions on tour) and Proyecto 43-2. Nahia is also credited as AD on the play Viaje al Fin de la Noche, nominated to Best Show in the MAX Awards (Spanish Theatre Awards).
 
In 2011 Nahia Láiz created her own theatre company and premiered the comedy Una Noche Como Aquella, written by Nacho Redondo and directed by Mar Corzo (Chos) with which they managed to stay on the billboard for two years.
 
In television Nahia has worked in series such as “Cuéntame cómo pasó” (TVE), “Eva y Kolegas” (Neox), “¿Hay alguien ahí?” (Cuatro), “¡Hola! ¿Qué tal?” (TVE), “Centro Médico” (TVE) or “Servir y Proteger” (TVE), among others. She also starred in Alex Rodrigo’s webseries “Libres”, a perfomance awarded with the Best Actress Award in the LA Web Fest.
 
In cinema she has worked in several short films such as “La Propina” by Esteban Crespo, or The Same Life” by César Roldán, among others.
 
Nahia Láiz has also worked in the feature films “Sicarivs: la Noche y el Silencio” and “El Guardián Invisible”.
