Augusto Sandino is one of the most prominent names in contemporary Colombian cinema. Winner of over 30 international awards and the National Film Award 2000-2005 granted by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia for his short film “Aniversario”. His debut feature “Suave el aliento” won the Jury’s Special Prize for Debut Films and the FIPRESCI Prize at Tallinn Black Nights FF in 2016.

Founding director of the Author Cinema manifesto symposium alongside Carlos Reygadas, Lisandro Alonso, and Amat Escalante in 2014.

Sandino has also been a producer of both his films and other notable projects: “La forma del presente” at DOK Leipzig Next Masters 2018; “The Tower” at IFFR Bright Future 2018; “Karen cries on the Bus” at Berlinale Forum 2011.

“Entre la niebla” is his second feature film, which premiered worldwide in the main competition of PÖFF Tallinn Black Nights FF 2021, and won the jury prize for best cinematography at SXSW 2022 among other awards. It was released in theaters in 2022 through Cine Colombia and has been acquired for theatrical distribution in North America.
