With a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Navarra moved to Madrid (Spain) in 1999 and obtained a Diploma in Film and TV Directing from the TAI Arts University School with honours.
Borja Echeverria is the filmmaker of the feature film “Qué pelo más guay” (2012), a homonym stage adaptation that premiered at the SITGES International Film Festival and was awarded with the Best Film of the Aragon Region – Simon Awards 2013. Borja had also written and directed a dozen of short films -such as the internationally awarded “Salva el mundo” and “El Síndrome del Ártico”-, TV commercials, and the TV series “Ell@s” (Antena 3 TV).
With a large career in cinema, he started as a 2nd AD, script and 1st AD in movies such as Santago Tabernero’s “Vida y Color”, Miguel Angel Lamata’s “Nuestros Amantes” and Ridley Scott’s “Kingdom of Heaven”, among others.
Borja Echeverría also directed music videos for artists such as Anaut, Loquillo, Raphael or Ara Malikian among others. With Ara Malikian, Borja directed “15”, a music video Nominated to the Best Long Form Music Video Award in the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards.
In television he had worked in the Spanish National TV (RTVE) as a scriptwriter, 1st AD and pieces director in programs such as “Carta blanca”, “Extras del DVD”, “La nube”, “Revista de cine”, “Opening and Closure Galas of the San Sebastian International Film Festival – 2022”, among others.
Borja Echeverría had just finished to write with the acclaimed Spanish director, producer and screenwriter Carlos Saura, the TV series “Las voces perdidas” (The Lost Voices), a series about the famous Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca. And also has in development some other projects such as “Los parafílicos” (produced by Gerardo Herrero – Tornasol Media), “CR1PT0” and “El enigma Gardel” (produced by Franciscus Productions), and also developing some film scripts.
